The O.J. McDuffie Catch 81 Foundation is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) public fundraising organization that was established in July 2006. Their mission is to support and create programs to enhance the quality of life for the children of South Florida and empower them to pursue the best in themselves. The foundation is committed to supporting South Florida's youth through a series of special fundraising events, such as our Spring Celebrity Golf Classic, Summer Softball Slam, Signature Grand Ghoul and bowling tournament, among others.
The Catch 81 Foundation has been able to raise money for various organizations and other non-profits that aid in the support of at-risk children. With the help of private donors and corporate sponsors, The Catch 81 Foundation will continue to grow and make great strides towards funding various programs and charitable causes and change the lives and futures of our youth.
The O.J. McDuffie Catch 81 Foundation is very proud of its accomplishments. Through fund raising efforts and donations, the Foundation has benefited the Sheridan House Single Parent Ministries, The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Alonzo Mourning Holiday Party, The Boys and Girls Club, NFL YET Center, the Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance, American Cancer Society-Relay for Life and the Joe DiMaggio Hospital for Children.
O.J. McDuffie was one of the NFL's best receivers in the 1990's. Dan Marino, during his retirement speech stated that O.J., "was probably the toughest guy I had ever played with." O.J. led the NFL in receptions in 1998 and was the Dolphin's MVP in '97 and '98. He remains the fourth all-time receiver in Miami Dolphin history. First Team All-American at Penn State University, "Juice" was the Miami Dolphin's first round draft pick in 1993, where he played his entire nine year NFL career. A fearless competitor who always gave 100 percent, O.J. was a leader both on and off the field. |
